FREAK SHOW

This song was written many years ago, back when "The Jerry Springer show" first aired. Joe's compositional inspiration jumped forth after watching a particularly disturbing episode dealing with abnormally enhanced female mammilla glands which are also known as 'freaks' in other social environments or new and different cultural settings exposed and studied while watching life's other Circus that is The Jerry Springer Show.

Lay your money down for the Freak Show Buddy

No it doesn't cost a lot, and the first looks free

Everyone's in town at the Freak Show, come on down and

Get it while its hot, if your ready or your not

It’s a Freak Show, tell you it’s a scream.

Give me your tired and your poor

We long to see their tales

Especially if they're red hot and dirty (yea)

Give us the worst you've got

All the better for all of us , waiting here to be disgusted

So just strip your pride

And lift the veil

Don't spare us from one warped detail.

Lay your money down for the Freak Show Buddy

No it doesn't cost a lot, and the first looks free

Everyone's in town at the Freak Show, come on down and

Get it while its hot, if your ready or your not

It’s the Freak Show, tell you it’s a scream.

Don't be shy, don't be coy

Just kindly state your case

Of why a man leaves his wife….. for a poodle

No, don't make it up, cause the truths such a hoot

It just gives the boot to any fiction

Why you think we'd just get sick and bored

Like Jell-O we just beg for more

And I have seen

The coming out of closet queens and aliens

Oh don't touch that dial

We'll tickle your fancy for just a while

Our darkest dreams,

The skeletons and everything are on the screen

We'll just bare the shame, for fifteen minutes of network fame

* Mike Keneally Solo

There's more to see

Than Grandma could have every dreamed

And such unseemly human slime

It's a shame they can't match it when it's prime time

Where are you now?

Old Dog-Faced Boy we've lost our sense of innocence

And that bearded dame,

Was not as hairy as these folks claims

So lay your money down for the Freak Show buddy

No it doesn't cost a lot, and the first looks free

Everyone's in town at the Freak Show, come on down and

Give us a call, Give us a call at 1-800 JERRY

It’s a Freak Show, tell you it’s a...

Lay your money down for the Freak Show Buddy

No it doesn't cost a lot, and this one's on me

Everyone's in town at the Freak Show, come on down and

Get it while its hot, if your ready or your not

At the Freak Show, tell you it’s a scream.

So lay your money down for the Freak Show Buddy

Lay your money down for the Freak Show Buddy

Sunken City was conceived one night at Tommy's Yacht Club as Joe and another (unknown at the time) musician for a one time only solo acoustic show right up Sixth Street at Sacred Grounds Coffee Shop and completely blew out of control from there with a-lot of help from the internet. Before everyone had even met each other most the details including set lists and charts had been sorted out and put up in a web private web page. You could truthfully say that the idea was born in a bar but grew up on the internet.
